About the race and where we’re going and why..
Hi friends and family! I will be talking a little more about what the World Race is and why I have decided to go! With everything about corona I’m sure you guys are wondering if we will go still. Yes! We are going to hopefully still go. We were originally supposed to do our training camp in the summer but with corona, we decided to do it in September. So what’s going to happen is that we will go to training camp and right after that we will go to Costa Rica!
With the World Race Gap Year Program I will be taking around 9 months to go travel to four different continents. I will be traveling to Costa Rica, Thailand, Guatemala, and Swaziland. Each continent will have a special meaning and purpose to go.
For Costa Rica- Our purpose will be Feeding camp ministry, Sex trafficking, Youth ministry.
Guatemala- Sports and Children ministry, Community help and development.
Thailand- Children’s Ministry, Teaching them English and helping the community
Why did I choose this? Well, I have always wanted to do a mission trip of some sort. I just didn’t know where and when to start. I recently went to Passion Conference. And had a change of heart. I have always been involved in the church. I was baptized when I was little. Went to church with my parents. And involved in my youth group, have gone to Passion since 2018. And was old enough to go. And when I say it changed my life. It changed my life! I had met a girl named Jami and she sat next to me. On the first night of the conference, I had gotten floor seats. And there were two open seats. And she and her friend chose to seat next to me. Durning worship Hillsong was playing. And the song With Everything was playing and I remembered I started bawling. With Everything is a special song to me. And I had started crying. I felt a hand touch me and I assumes it was the person I had gone with. But then I felt two hands on me! After the service was over, I looked at her and asked if she put her hand on me and she said yes! And what’s crazy is that something had told me she was going to be special and have meaning to her. Expect I didn’t know how to talk to her because I was nervous. Anyways. We started talking and I found out she goes to my absolute dream college. Hillsong Australia College! And that’s when I saw God first move at conference for me. I mean what are the chances!! After conference was over I kept getting signs and feeling it in my heart that I needed to go serve. Originally I was going to start college at Georgia southern. But I knew that wasn’t God’s plan for me. A little after conference I signed up for The World Race. And well… Here I am! I am so thankful and blessed that I have gotten in and have one of the best squad members ever. I mean I have only met maybe five or six of them but when I say my heart is around the U.S right now it is!! I love everyone so much and have had so many great zoom calls and have laughed so much and they have shown me God’s love and different perspectives in life.
