Love needs no translation

hi friends! I am currently at my second ministry now! It is a sweet place called Dunamis. Their mission is to help girls who have been sex trafficked, or were abused. Our ministry here looks like two things. We’re only here for a couple weeks til we leave Ecuador. Oh btw! Going to Guatemala for the last two months of my race. Anyways, ministry  can look like picking up tomatoes in their tomato green house which they sell here in Quito, and it helps keep the ministry going and gives them funds to continue to do what they do. Then depending on our schedule two girls from my squad will go into the house where the girls stay and work with them all day.

Today was my first day being able to work with the girls. I was really scared because I know very little spanish. But right away we were welcomed with open hearts by their chef they have named Juanita. She is the sweetest lady and makes amazing food. As well Gio and Shey were the ladies who teach them many things. Today we were taught about  our feelings and how they are valid and what each feelings mean. The ages of the girls can vary from literally 4 weeks old… To 18. It truly blows your mind when you walk in there. Instant goosebumps. My heart truly is with these girls. One girl who stuck out to me was a little girl who’s around 9. She instantly makes you smile and giggle. We don’t speak much but she still brightens my day. The girls there have not had the best time. But yet they wake up and continue to praise the Lord no matter what. It’s the most encouraging thing to see. Often times I catch myself to be honest just being selfish. The girls gave me a big wake up call.

Anyways. I’m sure you must be wondering why I called my blog. “Love needs no translation”. At the end of the day Shey and Gio decided to let the girls talk about how each girl makes them feel. She grabbed paper and wrote each of our names. I have been waiting for the moment to tell these girls that they are beautiful and wonderfully made by the ultimate Creator. When they wrote mine I was thinking “these girls barely know me, how can they write something about me.” When I got mine, my heart instantly melted. All the girls are so sweet and just have the kindest soul. I didn’t know immediately what they said. But I knew that my heart was going to be so full.

••On the bottom I have attached what the girls said. I was translate some of what the sweet girls said.

If you read this blog, I thank you, this blog is very close to my heart. I have known these girls for less than a week and they already have a piece of my heart. As well if you read this. Please pray for these girls. They deserve nothing but grace. Please pray for everyone here at dunamis. Borris,

Diego, the two selfless security guards who work 24 hour shifts and then drive two hours home. Please pray for us here at dunamis that we continue to be a vessel to the ladies.

Much love to everyone. If you’d like more information on Dunamis please reach out to me.
